In the case of Edward Jones, the St. Louis-based brokerage with branches across the U.S. And Canada, that means suspending “all business travel,” according to Financial Advisor IQ.

The company tells the publication it is moving all large events and company training onto virtual platforms “through the end of May,” because of Covid-19.

Although Edward Jones will keep its branches open for now, it has instituted policies for social distancing by “limiting outside visitors to these locations.” It is encouraging its advisors to use virtual methods of communicating with clients.

The company did not respond to a question from Financial Advisor IQ about whether any of its advisors or employees have tested positive for the virus.

Elsewhere, the pandemic has prompted three Wall Street giants to institute work-from-home policies likely to affect their financial advisors.

There are now more than 1,600 cases of COVID-19 and 41 deaths in the U.S., our sister publication MarketWatch reports.
